Who we are

FlossFrame is the app and service operated by FlossFrame. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@flossframe.com.

No account required

You can begin without creating a FlossFrame account. The app uses an opaque installation identifier to connect a request to the device that made it and to apply service limits. It is not your name or email address.

Information we handle

• Photos and pattern inputs: when you request an online preview, the app sends a prepared working image and the settings needed for that preview. Your original photo is not sent as part of that prepared request.
• Projects on your devices: thumbnails, normalized source images, intermediate previews, charts, and exported pattern data can be stored locally by the app. Private iCloud sync may store project data when available.
• Anonymous identifiers: an opaque device and app-user identifier help us protect the service, restore access, and associate a request with its result.
• Operational events: limited events such as preview started, preview completed, selected style, dimensions, rerun, plan state, or an error category help us improve reliability. We do not send your image or creative prompt in these events.
• Security signals: service requests may be checked for rate limits and abuse prevention. Network details can be processed briefly for that purpose and reduced or hashed for operational records.
• Diagnostics: if the app crashes or the service hits an unexpected error, a technical report — such as app version, device model, operating system version and where in the code the fault occurred — is sent to our error-monitoring provider. These reports do not include your photos, charts or exported patterns.
• Purchases: subscriptions are billed by Apple and may be managed through our subscription service provider. FlossFrame does not receive your full payment card number.
• Support messages: if you email us, we receive the address and the details you choose to include, such as a support or job identifier.

Why we use information

We use it to create a requested preview, build a chart, sync or restore your projects, provide subscription access, prevent abuse, measure product reliability, answer support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

When a photo leaves your device

The app can prepare a photo locally. In release use, the prepared working image may be sent to our preview service when you request the optional online AI preview. The final chart is created in the app. If you do not request an online preview, the local preparation and chart flow stays on your device.

Service providers

We use carefully selected providers for cloud hosting and storage, optional AI preview processing, Apple services such as iCloud and App Store billing, email, and basic reliability or security operations. They receive only what is needed to provide their service and must protect it under their agreements with us.

Retention and deletion

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, security, billing records, support, or legal requirements. Different technical records have different lifetimes; we do not promise a single universal number of days for preview media or job records.

You can delete individual projects in the app. Removing a single project from your device, or deleting the app, does not by itself delete service-side records for a preview you requested earlier.

To delete everything, open Settings in the app and choose “Delete account and data”. This permanently removes your local projects and the service-side records linked to your installation, including stored preview images, job and usage records, and your anonymous identifiers. We also ask our subscription service provider to delete its customer record. This cannot be undone, and it does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage that in your Apple Account settings.

If you cannot use the app, email us with the support identifier shown in Settings or a job identifier. We will verify the request and apply applicable legal exceptions.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact us at support@flossframe.com; we may need to verify your request. You can also control Photos, Camera, iCloud, and notification permissions in Apple’s settings.

Children

FlossFrame is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use access controls, encrypted transport, limited identifiers, and short-lived access links where appropriate. No service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid putting sensitive information in a project or support email.

Our website

This informational website does not require an account and does not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. Standard request metadata may be handled by the hosting and security layers that deliver the site.

Changes to this page

We may update this notice when the app or service changes. We will update the effective date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the app.

Finished Look requests

As part of eligible pattern generation, FlossFrame may automatically create a Finished Look visualization showing how the generated cross-stitch pattern may appear when stitched — you do not need to take a separate action for it to run. To create this visualization, a chart-derived image is sent to the FlossFrame backend and the configured AI provider, including OpenAI when enabled. The backend may temporarily or persistently retain the request and result images in private Supabase storage for processing, security, support, abuse prevention, and service operation.

Finished Look is not guaranteed for every pattern: eligibility, service quotas, and service availability may prevent it from running.
