Save the version you plan to stitch
Finish reviewing the crop, style, dimensions and colours before exporting. If you generate another version later, give the new file a distinct name so the chart and legend do not get mixed up.
FlossFrame can export a PDF locally. Save a copy somewhere you can find again, and open it in your usual PDF viewer to check that the export is complete.
Check one page first
Inspect the chart at a comfortable reading size. Look at similar symbols, pale colours and fine grid lines. Print one representative page before using paper and ink on the whole pattern.
Printing in black and white can change how a colour chart reads. If you intend to do that, check the symbols and legend in a monochrome test print rather than relying on differences between coloured squares.
Understand print scale
Making a chart larger on paper makes it easier to read; it does not change the stitch count or finished size on fabric. The physical design size comes from the number of stitches and the fabric count.
Use the print preview to ensure no chart edges, page labels or legend entries are cut off. For a document spread over several pages, keep the page order and check any overlaps or alignment markers supplied in the file.
Keep the working pieces together
Keep the chart, colour legend and dimension notes together. You may want a second copy of the legend so you do not have to keep turning pages while stitching.
If you mark completed stitches on paper, keep the original PDF unchanged as a reference. Before starting after a break, confirm the pattern name and version against your saved project. A few seconds spent checking can prevent stitching from the wrong chart.
